How You Can Stop Anxiety Attacks – Understanding The Whole Picture

The big thing that you and I have in common is that we both understand how terrible panic and anxiety attacks really are. There is nothing worse than the feeling that you get when an attack is about to hit, nothing worse than the rapidly accelerating heart beating in your chest, and that feeling of imminent danger. Seriously, there is nothing worse. That said, if you want to know how to stop anxiety attacks, it looks like you might be in the right place, as that is what I plan on teaching you today. Not only that, but the short term methods that help you with a much longer term to be free of Anxiety for good. It is not a short journey, that’s for sure, but it is one worth taking.

Welcoming Calm Back Into Your Life

In order to be open for any longer term methods, you need to be in a mindset where you are able to act rationally, and think freely. The moment at which you have a panic attack is not exactly a calm moment. In fact, it is a moment of sheer chaos, and whilst it may be difficult to even consider being calm, it can happen with a bit of practice. It all starts with breathing though. Long deep breathes, focusing on the air entering your longs and exiting. Consider using stop words as well if the negative thoughts come back into your head. These words are completely up to you to choose, but must be effective in clearing out thoughts, and allowing positive thoughts to replace the negative thoughts. This can be a challenge, but as I said, with practice, it is possible.

Assistance From Medications

There is a wide variety of medications available for use to instigate calm, however you will need to discuss this with your doctor as many can be harmful if used long term, and can be addictive. It is important to note that medications are only ever to be used for the short term, as this will provide you enough relief to be able to tackle other long term methods, such as what I am about to discuss.

Your Thoughts Are Not Dangerous!

This one can be a little hard for most of us to be able to accept. Our thoughts, those little horrible thoughts that power our anxiety and panic attacks, they are completely harmless and can not hurt us at all. In fact, we can control them, but we just need to be able to accept that they are within our control first. This is the most important step in a long term recovery, however it can take some time, and it can be extremely scary along the way. Again, this is where medication may help, or some of the short term relief methods that I discussed earlier. If you want to know how to stop anxiety attacks, this is exactly where it is done.

That brings us to the end. Hopefully you have a better grasp of what you need to do in order to be rid of Anxiety for good. Knowing how to stop anxiety attacks is only half of the battle however, please understand this. Putting what I teach into action, and what you learn from your GP into action, this is the challenging part. it takes time, it will take a whole lot of courage too, but with persistance, you will be able to take charge of your life all over again.
